If you’ve decided to become more fit this year and walking is your exercise of choice, congratulations! However, before you get started make sure you have the correct shoes.  We like the criteria from the Mayo Clinic to determine whether  shoes have the fit and features required for walking.  Click here to read their recommendations.

What about the latest trend in toning shoes for walking?  You know, the ones with the rocker bottoms.  The American Podiatric Medicine Association (APMA) suggests that toning footwear can be effective if “viewed as an addition to an exercise program, to strengthen and tone certain targeted muscle groups.”  To find out more, click here.
